Acanthus Spinosis (Bears Breeches)

When I planted this whole front garden a few years back, I thought this would flourish. It did nothing but produce its wonderful leaves for 2 years. Then this year, BAM. It was worth the wait.

Its planted in quite poor soil in a shaded border next to conifers but it does make a great corner piece. Not only are the colours completely fab, the texture of the flower petal bracts are very papery (not sure if thats a real word). If you see one, have a feel. Unfortunately they dont have any wiff but they are beautiful enough without it.

If you have any beautiful plants you would like to show off, please post them here.

Welcome

Welcome to the 'what plants have you got in your garden' blog. As a professional gardener, I like to be nosy in new gardens to find out what little gems are hidden away. The very first time I saw a tree peony, it was stunning and I couldn't help but stare.
I would love you all to share pictures of what you've got in your garden. If you have a particular variety that is special in some way, share it here so everyone can see.
I will of course be posting plants from my garden and anything I think you would like to see from some of my customers' garden. You can also post pictures on trees and fungi if you fancy.
I look forward to your favourites and oddities.
